Description: A local pizzeria with a focus on Organic, fresh, healthy and delicious meals. This is not a Gluten free kitchen. Parchment paper is used in addition to the pizza pan to decrease cross contamination, however all pizzas are cooked in same oven Staff are well informed of what is available gluten-free. They have been offering GF dining regularly for about 1 year Always state you are ordering Gluten free. If you add on an appetizer such as homemade spinach dip make sure to ask for corn chips! The bread served w/ appetizers is not GF.
Comments: Apr 29, 2009: I took my cousin and her husband from NE for gluten free pizza last week. He has celiac disease, but is not overly sensitive to gluten as long as there is no direct contact to food. He ordered a GF pizza with cheese and tomato sauce - nothing else. By the second bite we could tell he was having a problem.
I went back this week to tell them about it and to caution them. They just basically said too bad, we wipe the pizza shovel with a wet towel between GF pizza's and regular pizzas. We actually saw them wip the shovel, but didn't know that it was for the GF pizza. The cook just basically gave it a quick wipe in the center. I can attest to the fact that the whole things was not washed or wiped down good, especially around the sides and edges.
He was sick for about 18 hours with vomiting and diarrhea. We ate at two other restaurants with no problem and didn't even request GF. Just ordered items from the menu that we knew had to be GF and checked one salad dressing.
This was very disappointing and even more so their attitude that they'd never had a problem. I didn't want anything, just wanted them to be aware of the problem so that the next person wouldn't go through the same thing. May 12, 2009: I did not have a bad reaction to the GF pizza, as it was carefully prepared and delicious, my negative reaction was to the price!! Commentor's sensitivity: NON-digestive Symptoms (migraines, anemia, joint pain, etc) and has an immediate and unmistakable reaction
May 12, 2009: I ordered a GF appetizer and they gave me a regular non-GF appetizer. The owner was not apologetic at all. NEVER going there again. Commentor's sensitivity: Digestive Symptoms (gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, etc) and has an immediate and unmistakable reaction
Aug 9, 2009: We recently were visiting Tucson and were looking for a Pizza place we could eat at that had Gluten Free options as well. We were excited to find Eclectic Pizza! My daughter has Celiac Disease and has reactions at almost every restaurant we eat out at, even if we've asked if things have wheat in them or not, she is quite sensitive. We are pleased to report that Eclectic Pizza answered all of our questions, gave us a very reasonably priced GF pizza and she had NO reaction or adverse affects from eating at Eclectic Pizza! Thanks Commentor's sensitivity: Digestive Symptoms (gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, etc) and can usually (but not always) be certain if they\'ve eaten gluten
Apr 22, 2010: I've eaten here many times and the pizza is always good and never affects me. The owner even told me where they get their crusts--Dad's. The $16 for the pizza sounds expensive, but if you order the crusts online from Dad's they are $8 and you still need to put all the ingredients on them and bake them, so I guess the $16 isn't so bad.
